Power-up Surge - Overdrive and Onslaught Pickups

Two new power-ups for the campaign and The Dark Ages: Revelations. Overdrive makes you faster and stops your ammo running down for 10 seconds. Onslaught hits harder for 10 seconds, with the berserk screen and a timer bar at the bottom of the HUD. They sit in the levels as glowing rune circles, the same kind the Berserk pickup uses, and you grab them by walking through.

Onslaught and Overdrive are still defined in the game's files, but nothing in the game ever gives them to you. This mod puts them in the levels as pickups.

42 pickups across 18 chapters, 13 in the campaign and 5 in Revelations, placed where the bigger fights are: Onslaught near heavy demons, Overdrive in wide arenas.

The power-ups

Overdrive - the smaller rune

  []Infinite ammo while it lasts[/]

  []Gold screen effect and a blue glow on your weapon. There is no timer bar: when the gold fades, it is over.[/]

  Onslaught - the larger rune

  • []A big damage boost for 10 seconds[/]

    []Red berserk screen effect and a countdown bar at the bottom of the HUD. The bar says BERSERK, the game's own label for it.[/]

      Each option is a separate download. Install one.

      Good to know

      • []Each pickup is used up when you take it. Reload a checkpoint from before it and it is back.[/]

        []Chapters without a pickup play exactly as they do in the base game.[/]

        []The effects last 10 seconds.[/]

        Requirements

        • []Atlan Mod Loader v9 by FlavorfulGecko5.[/]

          []If your mods stopped loading after update 1. 016, download the loader again. Support for 1. 016 was added to the same v9 download on 15 September 2026 without a new version number, so an older copy looks identical and does not work.[/]

          Installation

          • []Install Atlan Mod Loader v9 in your DOOM: The Dark Ages folder.[/]

            []Put the zip you downloaded here into DOOMTheDarkAges/mods/. Leave it zipped.[/]

            []Run AtlanModLoader.exe. It builds your mods and starts the game.[/]

            Uninstall: delete the zip from the mods folder and run AtlanModLoader.exe again.

            Compatibility

            • []Made for game version 1. 016 (September 2026). Also works on the 29 July 2026 build.[/]

              []This replaces the level files for every chapter it adds a pickup to. Another mod that edits the same chapters will conflict, and the loader lists it under "Checking for Conflicts". Atlan Mod Merger can combine them.[/]

              []Kaibz Mod is not needed. The two run together fine.[/]

              []Mods that change weapons, damage or difficulty without touching level files stack with this.[/]
