Ammo looting rework

Main idea

With this mod your main way of replenishing ammunition is going to be through your shieldsaw, simply throw it against a heavy unit to drop them. Reducing the occurrence by which the player gains ammunition also means you will be forced to switch your weapons more frequently and think more carefully about enemy prioritization.

To balance the amount of loot, each weapon class ammunition has its own timer:

• []Light (cells, spikes): 9 seconds ;[/]

  []Medium (shells, skulls): 12 seconds;[/]

  []Heavy (rockets, chainshot): 15 seconds.[/]

  This means that, after throwing the first shieldsaw against a heavy unit you will gain ammunition for each of the weapon class, with their relative timers starting to tick. In this way using the shieldsaw to stun heavies will be both more rewarding (if timed properly) but will also require a good and natural habit of tracking the several timers. Keeping the chainsaw stuck into an enemy will keep dropping ammunition as the relative timers reset.

  This makes the shieldsaw more akin to the chainsaw in DOOM Eternal, with the only difference being that the generated loot (set to minimum in the difficulty slider) will be very scarce, unless you will play with the "All In One" version.

  To support the player against boss-fights or the first level, each mod will be accompanied with a supplementary way to replenish the player ammunition.

  Here I listed the timers for each of the supplementary mechanics:

  Glory Strikes:

  • []Light (cells, spikes): 30 seconds ;[/]

  Melee Strikes:
  • []Light (cells, spikes): 25 seconds ;[/]

    []Heavy (rockets, chainshot): 35 seconds.[/]

    Parries:

    • []Light (cells, spikes): 20 seconds ;[/]

      []Medium (shells, skulls): 25 seconds;[/]

      []Heavy (rockets, chainshot): 30 seconds.[/]

      Lastly every ammunition counter has been decreased as such:

      • []Shotgun: 32 -> 24.[/]

        []Super Shotgun: 16 -> 12.[/]

        []Shredder: 180 -> 120.[/]

        []Impaler: 15 -> 8.[/]

        []Accelerator: 320 -> 140.[/]

        []Cycle: 240 -> 105.[/]

        []Pulverizer: 150 -> 90.[/]

        []Ravager: 300 -> 180.[/]

        []Chainshot: 18 -> 10.[/]

        []Grenade Launcher: 19 -> 13.[/]

        []Rocket Launcher: 12 -> 9.[/]

        In addition to this, the impaler Stalwart perk and the accelerator Heatblast perk have been modified so that:

        Stalwart drops spikes every 10 seconds.

        Heatblast drops cells every 15 seconds.

        Moreover the first level will be very painful if you decided to set the ammo value to minimum. Unfortunately I wasn't capable of increase the ammunition pickups value to fix this or give the player the shieldsaw in the first level without bricking the second level.

        How to install:

        Download the Mod Loader.

        Extract the zipped file inside DOOM The Dark Ages game directory. On steam you can access to the folder by right clicking on the game -> Manage -> Browse Local Files.

        Move the mod inside the "mods" folder.

        Run the "AtlanModLoader.exe".
