THE DOOM ETERNAL PISTOL

Restores the Pistol to be fully utilized in DOOM Eternal

HOW TO INSTALL:

In order for the Pistol to work you must have Meath00k placed in your DOOM Eternal directory.

Pistol.zip must be run through the DOOM Eternal Modinjector.

The overrides are the second part of the installation and they are installed by unzipping the overrides file of your choice and putting the "overrides" folder into the DOOM Eternal installation folder. So file path should be DOOMEternal -> overrides -> generated...

(Optional) The Classic or Gold Pistol Skins are run through the Modinjector as well just as any other skin Mod.

HOW TO EQUIP THE PISTOL:

Use the command "give weapon/player/pistol" to add the pistol to your inventory.

Then use the command "bind (key of your choice) _weap0" to bind the pistol to a key.

OVERRIDES OPTIONS:

Vanilla: Relatively Unchanged from the Vanilla version of DOOM Eternal's Pistol except for some minor things like projectile tracers and impacts that had to be replaced with heavy cannon ones due to the Pistol ones not working

Buffed: Increased Damage for base fire and Hand Cannon secondary fire compared to the Vanilla counterpart, faster switch time from secondary fire to base to allow for combos with them. Marauder can be stunned with secondary fire. Headshot damage with secondary fire does double damage.

Classic: Three Round Burst replaced with single shots that fire at the same rate as the Original Pistol. Base fire can now fire by holding the fire button. Base Fire and Secondary Fire damages increased (Secondary does near Double of Base). Secondary Fire also has Classic DOOM Pistol fire rate.

KNOWN BUGS:

The Pistol is a little unstable, upon equipping the pistol there's a chance for the game to crash and give you an error message stating "MD6 Skeleton 'default_md6skl' has no joints from model...". This often happens the first few times of injecting the pistol mod or changing its skins and the best workaround is to reopen the game and try again until it stabilizes. Any other error message is likely due to improper installation of the mod.

Occasionally when leaning against a wall, the pistol will not display the proper leaning animation and instead float in the center, restarting the game (not reinjecting) is the best way to fix this one as well.
