📋 About This Mod
a Reshade collection to bring Dishonored 1 a little more in line with Dishonored 2's color palette. it's character-themed (and includes a Reshade setup tutorial if you've never used it before <3)
dishonored 2 for dishonored
a little reshade collection <3
Dishonored is one of my favorite games of all timeee. however, it just so happens that I played a good chunk of Dishonored 2 first, so tbh Dishonored's color palette did throw me off just a little bit, and i set out to create some reshades for myself. and i've decided to share them here in case someone else wants them!
a few notes
#1 - No HD pack. as in, none of these screenshots were taken with the hd pack. you're totally welcome to try it out (and let me know how it goes!) but my goal with this reshade collection was to make things as easy and performance friendly as possible! i had a potato pc for years lmao so i always try to keep it in mind
#2 - in that same vein, I pretty much believe in only using Reshades that keep or improve my performance. That means these reshades i've made contain no complex adjustments, just very meticulous color tweaks and a little bit of sharpening! they are simple, but well-loved little guys
#3 - because of ^^^ pls keep in mind that one preset may not fit every area! for example, I remember there's a mission toward the end (sokolov, i think?) that takes place at sunset and damn if that lighting isn't impossible to crack lmaoo. In the same vein, I love using Empress for the Boyle party, but Emily at the Hounds Pit Pub. I recommend you set up reshade according to my tutorial (i.e., just use hotkeys in a preset folder) so switching things up stays fun, easy, low effort, etc
#4 - I made these on 1440p resolution. if any of the scenes look too sharp/grainy, or if you're using the hd pack, you can always adjust the contrast limited sharpening effect :) or turn it off entirely if needed
the presets
i certainly didn't set out to make the presets that felt like their characters, but alas, here we are :') for anyone who's curious, here's a little of the color vision:
Corvo: a little sharper, single-minded... an unknowing splash of the void, perhaps 0. 0
Emily: a more faithful, colorful preset. child-like warmth, if you will
Empress (my personal fav <3): regal, a little aloof, but with a color and contrast that unites many areas of the game.
Outsider: subtle layers of grey, but never fully black and white.
that's all, folks! reshade tutorial is at the bottom for those who need it.
have fun playing !
p.s. it's not for everyone, and it won't match dishonored 2 perfectly! so remember that age-old modding mantra: if you don't like it, don't use it. no need to ruin my day or anyone else's lol 0. 0

RESHADE TUTORIAL (click the spoiler button)
for those who have never used Reshade before! because we all were new to things at some point <333
I originally posted this as a comment on an Inquisition reshade, and it seemed to have helped a lot of people out! sometimes we all need a reminder that we weren't born knowing this stuff lmaoo. wild take, but modding should be accessible to everyone <3 this will tell you almost every button to push to get reshade installed for dishonored.
-----How to get Reshade running------
Download this mod
Make sure you have the "D2 for D1 reshades" file downloaded, unzipped, and somewhere easy to access. For me, that's my desktop.
Download Reshade
Go to Reshade.me
Click the one that says "Download ReShade (current version) with full add-on support" (my current version is 6. 5. 1)
Reshade Setup
Run the setup file you downloaded from the website. It should be called something like Reshade_Setup
Click through the pop up menu about single player support.
Click on "Dishonored" (or, if it isn't showing up, hit Browse, then click your game folder, then the .exe file. If you don't know where that is, check the next bit of orange text)
Once you've selected Dishonored as your game, click Next
API Selection
Select Microsoft DirectX 9 as your API
"Select effects to install" window
Click "Uncheck all". Then hit Next. (Don't worry, we're going to come back to this later!)
On the "Select add-ons" page, just click Skip.
