📋 About This Mod
1080p loading background videos recompressed from console "Definitive Edition." (Not Upscaled)
Description
Loading background videos extracted from the PS4 "Definitive Edition."
These replace the 720p original backgrounds (that were plagued by some truly horrendous looking compression artifacts)
with a native 1080p version (not upscaled.) I had to recompress the backgrounds to Bink 1 but there wasn't any noticeable quality loss.
Unfortunately, only the main game (not DLC) was given this bonus treatment and the audio quality for credits was still aggressively compressed. Additionally, the "Definitive Edition" contained just under 90 textures at a higher resolution than the PC version, but almost all of these were bad upscales so I didn't think it was worth the trouble trying to port anything else.
