Anniversary Edition ReShade

DESCRIPTION

This ReShade preset has three objectives: realism, dramatism, and cinematography. To achieve that, it adds bloom to the ambient light, reduces the fog and improves texture quality by sharpening the visuals, desaturates the colors for a less cartoonish aspect, darkens shady areas to remove the washed-out look, establish a stronger contrast between single light sources and dark areas for more, well, drama, and adds some effects like film grain, chromatic aberration and a lens flickering similar to the one in Dishonored 2, not to forget the good old movie bars - for a more cinematic experience.

INSTALLATION STEPS:

1.       Download ReShade 4. 9. 1 here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/wdfnrzhsk0bea07/ReShade_Setup_4. 9. 1.exe/file

2.       Inject ReShade on the Dishonored.exe in your install directory, usually found here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dishonored\Binaries\Win32. Check all effects.

3.       Extract all the files from the Anniversary Edition ReShade in the same folder as above.

4.       Run Dishonored, press on your keyboard the home key (or the Pos1 key).

5.       Select Anniversary Update on the select tab, up on the ReShade control page. That’s it, you're ready to play.

VERSIONS

There are two versions of the preset: one for players that play in 1080p, and another for those who play in 4K.

Obviously, this mod shows his best results at 4K. Since I had to reduce their resolution scale to upload them here in Nexus,

my comparison images don't do full justice to the preset. Better then go see the video above.

There is also an alternative version included that makes the visuals somewhat more faded (go see the last comparison pictures).

If you don’t like an effect (like the film grain or the chromatic aberration) or would wish at least to reduce their intensity, just go on the ReShade control panel and uncheck or change the settings until it suits your own taste.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If you have some sort of issues, just let me know in the posts section. Since my IT skills are pretty limited, you have sadly not to expect much help from me if you have problems of technical nature, like game crashing after installing ReShade. But since there are always better-skilled guys out there that could help you, report your issues anyway.

Now, this ReShade preset is not initially from me. It is mostly based from the work of another contributor, called Se1y, which uploaded this preset originally for the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla game on his respective nexus page, which can be found here: https://www.nexusmods.com/assassinscreedvalhalla/mods/15?tab=description. So credits go to him. And me. Yep, me, since I added some new effects that made quite a difference, this is also part of my work, although only to a lesser extent. Because he gives the rights on his nexus page to upload it for other games on Nexus as long as we credit him, so here we go!
