Character progression and difficulty

  • []All eight supported classes, including Warlock, can reach level 445.[/]

[]Gain 8 attribute points and 2 skill points per level.[/]

[]Invest up to 30 hard points per skill, before equipment bonuses.[/]

[]Monster density, health, damage, experience progression, and encounter balance have been revised. Ordinary packs, champions, named enemies, and major bosses present different challenges.[/]

[]Resistance penalties are −25% in Normal, −75% in Nightmare, and −150% in Hell.[/]

[]Death experience penalties remain 0% in Normal, 5% in Nightmare, and 10% in Hell. Increased progression does not remove these penalties.[/]

[]Health and mana potions provide substantially larger recovery amounts over three seconds, helping support the higher life and mana pools of later progression.[/]

    Equipment and hybrid builds

Uniques and sets have been reviewed around the skills and playstyles they support. Equipment choices include progression sets, custom endgame items, revised ordinary uniques, and alternate forms of familiar equipment.

The latest ordinary-item overhaul rebuilds 670 uniques, 205 set pieces, and 84 set bonus records across 99 ordinary sets. It retains the existing Chronicle equipment and its broad class identities.

Item-granted skills, often called OSkills, now support more hybrid builds:

    • []An OSkill grants its full printed item ranks even when it belongs to your own class; the old native-class +3 restriction is removed.[/]

[]Item OSkills contribute one-third of their raw ranks to the existing synergies they support, capped at 20 raw ranks per contributing skill across equipped items.[/]

[]Invested skill points still contribute fully. Generic +All Skills, class, skill-tree, and elemental bonuses do not add to this new raw synergy credit.[/]

[]Equipped auras keep their printed levels and can receive the supported synergy bonuses.[/]

[]Equipment class restrictions are removed except for Assassin claws. Weapon, shapeshift, casting, and summon requirements still apply. Chronicle set charms activate only for their matching class.[/]

Build possibilities include a Werebear Enchant Sorceress, Vengeance Sorceress, Wolf Barbarian, melee Bone Necromancer, Holy Freeze Ranger, and many other combinations. Each still needs suitable weapons, defenses, and skill investment.

Fresh items receive the current affixes. Previously found items retain their saved rolls and can retain older bases. Set bonuses use the current definitions when the set activates.

      Runewords and crafting

[]Create runewords in supported normal, superior, magic, rare, unique, and set items, retaining the base item's existing bonuses.[/]

[]Equipment-type restrictions are broadened, but the exact rune order, exact socket count, and the base's actual socket capacity still matter. Crafted and tempered items are not included in this extension.[/]

[]Fused uniques and fused runewords provide alternate-slot versions of source bonuses, including rings, amulets, jewels, gloves, boots, and belts. These are loot drops, rather than Cube crafts, and use the unenhanced source bonuses.[/]

[]Expanded socket recipes cover weapons, armor, jewelry, gloves, boots, belts, and quivers. Socket limits depend on the base, its size, and item level. Ascendant socket capacities have been corrected, and helmets support up to four sockets.[/]
