Currency Gems Crafting (D2 Gems into PoE Orbs)

This mod adds a very simple, yet fun currency re-rolling system for existing gems, similar to Path of Exile's currency orbs, via the following cube recipes:

• []Transmutation: Flawed Gem + Normal Item → Magic Item

  []Alteration: Normal Gem + Magic Item → Re-rolled Magic Item

  []Alchemy: Flawless Gem + Normal Item → Rare Item

  []Chaos: Perfect Gem + Rare Item → Re-rolled Rare Item

  []Scouring: Normal Skull + Magic/Rare Item → Normal Item

  []Regal: Perfect Skull+ Magic Item → Rare Item

  []Quality: Chipped Gem + Low Quality Item → Normal Item

  []Quality+: Chipped Skull + Normal Item → Superior Item

Notes:

• []Scouring does not work on Jewelry (Rings, Amulets, Jewels or Charms).

[]Regal does not work on Charms.

[]Ethereal bases cannot be re-rolled (eg., you cannot use them in Alteration, Chaos, Scouring, nor Regal recipes).

[]Socketed items cannot be upgraded (eg., you cannot use them in Transmutation, Alchemy, nor Quality recipes).

[]Superior items have a 50/50 chance to grant +5-15% Damage or Defense bonus when upgrading into Magic or Rare. Note this property will be lost upon re-rolling said Magic/Rare item with Alteration/Chaos recipes.

[]New: Chipped Gem recipes have a chance to add 1-6 sockets (33%) and/or make it ethereal (5%). In other words, the item drop is re-rolled.

Q: Are drop rates affected?

Q: Does this overwrite other recipes?

A: No. All other recipes remain in place, so if you want to waste away your Els, Elds, and Perfect Gems/Skulls, go ahead.

Q: What is the item's new ilvl?

A: Items keep their original ilvl. It is not modified.

Q: Isn't this power creep? Won't this turn D2 into PoE?

A: Technically, yes, it's power creep, since it adds recipes that didn't exist before. Realistically, and in D2's context of godly Runewords and powerful uniques? Nah.

Q: Doesn't this destroy masterfully timeless game balance of D2?

A: It doesn't. And no, D2 is not a well-balanced game. Hell difficulty in particular is completely broken, moreover for solo self-found characters, which is how most people play nowadays (and the only way if you're playing with mods).

Q: Why can't socketed items be upgraded?

A: I wanted to make plain white items to become interesting drop. In vanilla D2 they accomplish no function whatsoever, unlike socketed items.

Q: Why can't ethereal items be re-rolled?

A: They get repaired, same for Scouring and Regals. It also happens when they upgrade from blank, but since nobody uses them in this state (nobody sane at least), I let it slide. Besides, it'
