📋 About This Mod
Description
Corruption Shards adds a corruption system for Reign of the Warlock. Buy Corruption Shards from Gheed, combine 1 shard with 1 item in the Horadric Cube, and transmute to slam the item for a powerful new outcome. Depending on the item type, the result can be sockets, a corruption mod, or a bricked item. A brick turns the item into a rare item instead of granting a successful corruption result.
Installation instructions
Install this mod with D2RMM and make sure it is used together with Reign of the Warlock. Enable the mod, apply your mod setup, then launch the game with the generated mod files. After installation, buy Corruption Shards from Gheed and use them in the Horadric Cube with eligible items.
Main features
- Adds Corruption Shards as a shop item sold by Gheed.
- Lets you slam Normal, Magic, Rare, Set, Unique, and Crafted items.
- Socketable items roll 25% sockets, 50% corruption mod, and 25% brick.
- Non-socketable items roll 75% corruption mod and 25% brick.
- If the corruption mod rolls something that the item already possess, such as Cannot Be Frozen, the item will remain corrupted and unchanged. Note that if it's an existing mod that can be increased, such as all skills and resistances, it will be added accordingly.
- Includes a custom Corruption Shard inventory sprite and configurable shard price.
Requirements
- Diablo II: Resurrected
- D2RMM 1. 4 or newer
- D2R Reigns of the Warlock expansion. This mod is designed specifically for RoTW and is not intended as a standalone vanilla mod. Use it only in a mod setup where the expansion is already installed and working properly.
Bug Report
Please report any bugs or inconsistencies with as much detail as possible (e.g., version numbers, other active mods). I work two jobs, so updates might take a little time, but I’ll do my best to keep everything patched and functional.
Changelog
- Version 1. 2: Reduced the number of cube recipes even further while also fixing conflicts with other mods, such as MercEquip
- Version 1. 1: Reduced the number of cube recipes by merging item groups and added fail-safes that isolate each install step so partial failures no longer abort the mod, with recipe generation now gracefully skipping missing stats or item types instead of crashing.
- Version 1. 0: Mod is released.

This mod is for Diablo II Resurrected players using the RoTW mod who enjoy high-risk, high-reward crafting mechanics.
