Vanilla Rolling Stock Remover (Locomotives and Cargo)

Install the mod with Unity Mod Manger, load your save, disable whatever locomotives or cars you want from the mod settings UI, and enjoy them not showing up anymore in the world. Change the settings mid-game whenever you like without needing to exit to main menu/reload your save.

Details

The mod does what it says on the tin: it lets you remove vanilla rolling stock from the spawn pool. This mod is deliberately non-invasive and non-destructive. All of its modifications happen at the moment the game spawns in new jobs/locomotives without making any permanent changes to what locomotives or licenses are in your save file, so you can safely add and remove it from a save file without permanent effects.

By default, if your configuration results in a station being unable to generate any valid jobs, it will revert to vanilla rules to populate the station. If you would rather have your configuration respected even at the expense of some stations being inoperable, you can toggle this behavior off in the settings.

All of the mod's settings can be configured live while in-game and do not require you to exit to the main menu or reload your save. Any configuration changes will take effect the next time the game tries to spawn something in (i.e. when you approach a station/fast travel to one).

For example, if you were picking up a job on the way to the harbor, and you wanted to guarantee the harbor was full of boxcars when you get there, you could just disable all other freight cars as you drove towards the harbor, and when you arrive the harbor will have nothing but boxcar consists for jobs. Or if you wanted to haul the entire harbor, you could override all the spawns to be DE6 to guarantee you get a bunch at the roundhouse. You can then re-enable all the rolling stock after arriving and the next station you visit will be back to normal.

If you want to forcibly reload a station after making changes, just fast travel away from it and back to get it to trigger a re-spawn. Note that stations do not respawn their jobs/locomotives when you load into a save from the main menu, so any changes you make before loading a save won't take effect until you leave the station area, allowing the game to trigger its spawn logic again.

By default the mod hides licenses in the career manager for any locomotives you've disabled from spawning. This does not actually remove the license from the save file or from your player, and is just done as a convenience to tidy up the license manager for players that are trying to do a modded playthrough without ever driving those locomotives.
