Mod organizer(MO2) is a modern way, at least better than just extracting files.
Mod engine is usable, however ver1 is dead, ver. 2 has been archived and supported few games, ver. 3 is developing.
After unpacking by UXM, games like dark souls 3 will be similar to dark souls remastered(DSR) on file structure. DSR(with a plugin) are able to be managed by MO2. Therefore it's possible to manage all from software pc games in this clean way.
Firstly, we should be able to read, write and use MO2 plugins. It's easy if you learn from the plugin of DSR above.
After creating instances in MO2, there is a new world. However, not all the mods are Hot Plug, we should be able to repack them, which is also easy for only need to zip, and helpful when you want to upload mods and download other's standard mods.
