Dark Souls 3 - Deflection System
This is the initial release of the mod and will receive updates in the future.
For now, it introduces a simple and limited deflection mechanic: any two-handed equippable weapon can deflect basic attacks. Grab attacks cannot be deflected!
Deflecting attacks does not consume stamina and prevents taking damage. The mechanic is timing-based when entering guard, so it must be activated at the right moment for a successful deflection. The mechanic is challenging to master but rewarding, allowing the player to break the enemy’s guard if multiple attacks are deflected successfully.
Guard breaking depends on the target's total health: low-health enemies may require only 2 deflections to break their guard, while high-health enemies may need several deflections. For example, Gundyr requires over 10 deflections for guard break to occur.
