📋 About This Mod
Dynamic Skies
This mod adds procedural skies with dynamic clouds, sunsets, moons, and stars to Daggerfall Unity.
Version 2. 0 completely overhauls the mod. All weathers have been completely remade using cloud textures created with Daggerfall's vanilla skies and palettes. Sunsets now glow in brilliant red and orange. Stars twinkle, moons fade realistically into the sky, and fog changes color throughout the day.
You can use one of the three presets on this page (Vanilla, Pixel Edition, or HD Edition), or get King of Worm's DREAM - SKY preset here:

The code can be found in the repo here:

You can also make your own presets by dragging the BLBSkyboxMaterial into the Scene view, importing each SkyboxSetting, adjusting values and textures to your preferences, and exporting the SkyboxSettings. Build the preset by including your SkyboxSettings, Lightcurve, FogSettings, and textures in a dfmod, with Dynamic Skies as a dependency. Just be warned: this is a very, very difficult process!

📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Huge community trust – 2,386 endorsements and nearly 170k downloads show this mod is a fan favorite.
- Breathes new life into Daggerfall's skies – dynamic clouds and sunsets make the world feel alive.
- Still getting updates as of May 2025, so it's not abandoned.
⚠️ Cons
- Purely cosmetic – if you're after gameplay changes, this won't add any.
- May conflict with other visual mods that alter sky or weather systems.
- Requires Daggerfall Unity – not for the original DOS version.
For Daggerfall Unity players who want to make the world feel more immersive and atmospheric. If you're tired of static skies and want dynamic weather visuals, this is a must-have. Skip if you're looking for gameplay overhauls or play the classic DOS version.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you're running Daggerfall Unity, not the original DOS version – this mod won't work there.
- If you use other visual mods, check load order to avoid conflicts with sky or weather overhauls.
- Consider pairing with a lighting mod for a complete visual upgrade.
