📋 About This Mod

Description:

The mod changes the graphics of weapons depending on their material. This means that a daedric sword will look completely different than a steel sword, silver staff than mithril staff, etc. Each type of weapon will have its own unique look, both in first person and in inventory, over 11400 sprites!

With first person sprites I'm trying to keep the original atmosphere of early 90's renders and do it exactly the way it was done in Daggerfall (or at least the way I think it was done). That's why the meshes are simple and lowpoly, materials are non PBR, and renderer is non ray trace based. Paperdoll sprites are also rendered, but additionally corrected by hand to match the original style a little better. Every sprite is palletized to match original Dagerfall palette.

Currently done:

Wabbajack  (FPP and Inventory)

Katanas (FPP, Inventory, fancy magic)

War axes (FPP and Inventory)

Longswords (FPP, Inventory, fancy magic)

Shortswords (Inventory)

Broadswords (Inventory)

Daikatanas (Inventory)

Claymores (Inventory)

Staffs (FPP and Inventory)

Battle Axes (FPP and Inventory)

Long Bows (FPP and Inventory)

Short Bows (Inventory)

Maces (FPP and Inventory)

Wakazashis (Inventory)

Daggers (FPP, Inventory, fancy magic)

Tantos (Inventory)

Sabers (FPP, Inventory, fancy magic)

Warhammers (FPP and Inventory)

Flails (FPP and Inventory)

Light flails (for Roleplay Realism) (Inventory only)

Archer's axes (for Roleplay Realism) (Inventory only)

For now, this weapon uses closest equivalent for FPS animations.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Community favorite with 1,613 endorsements and over 80k downloads—clearly hits the mark.
  • Gives every weapon type its own visual identity, so your daedric sword won't look like a steel one anymore.
  • Last updated April 2025, so it's still being maintained.

⚠️ Cons

  • Purely cosmetic—if you want gameplay changes, this isn't it.
  • No compatibility info provided, so it might conflict with other weapon retextures or overhauls.
  • Description is thin on specifics, so you'll have to test it to see if you like the new looks.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Skyrim players who are tired of weapons looking too similar and want more visual variety. If you're a roleplayer or screenshot enthusiast, this adds nice differentiation. Skip if you're looking for new weapon stats or mechanics—this is all about looks.

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Since it's a texture/model replacer, make sure to load it after other weapon mods to ensure its visuals take priority.
  • If you use a mod manager like Vortex or MO2, you can preview the changes before committing.
  • Check if your other weapon mods are compatible—if they also change textures, you might see conflicts.
