Overview

DFU Paperdoll Position Editor is a standalone Windows tool for visually positioning and resizing custom Daggerfall Unity paperdoll textures.

Instead of repeatedly editing XML coordinates, launching the game, checking the result, and starting over, you can place the texture directly over a paperdoll body preview and export a compatible XML file.

The editor supports:

  The source PNG is never cropped or modified. The editor detects its visible alpha bounds for easier placement, then automatically converts the result back into the full-image coordinates required by Daggerfall Unity.

  • []Visual drag-and-drop positioning

    Move the selected paperdoll layer directly with the mouse.

    []Edge and corner resizing

    Resize the layer by dragging its selection handles.

    []Alpha-bound editing

    The selection box follows the actual visible image instead of the PNG's transparent canvas.

    []DFU-compatible XML export

    Exports x, y, width, height, and rect scale values in the format used by Daggerfall Unity.

    []Supported XML texture scales

    1x, 4x, 8x, and 16x.

    []Automatic XML loading

    If an XML file with the same name as the PNG is present, its existing position and size are loaded automatically.

    []Race and gender body previews

    Includes alignment previews for the supported Daggerfall races and genders.

    []Automatic face body selection

    FACE## filenames automatically select the corresponding race and gender preview.

    []Generic paperdoll layer support

    Clothing, armor, weapons, and other textures can be aligned against any manually selected preview body.

    []In-game paperdoll coordinate preview

    Uses the 880 × 1472 PaperDollRenderer area at render scale 8.

    []Forest and transparent backgrounds

    Switch between a cropped in-game background and a checkerboard transparency preview.
