Wolvenkit Tutorial -- Adverts and Load Screens

UPDATE Feb 3, 2023: Added a second tutorial focused on editing installed mods. In particular how to open a load screen mod and save the images as PNG for wallpapers and how to modify/rename individual load screens and repack them. The tutorial is primarily aimed at people who want to modify/rename individual load screens in my 403 Load Screen Library Mod.

If you think you can't mod, think again!

Wolvenkit takes the tech out of changing game assets. Two months ago I knew nothing about modding aside from using other people's mods and wishing I could change my game my way.

Wolvenkit is free as are many of the tools you need to edit game files. Blender for 3D assets, Gimp or Krita for image manipulation, also check out Faststone if you want an easy to use image viewer/editor. Of course there is also Photoshop, but it isn’t free.

I have put out two mods on Nexus that are essentially texture replacers  New Cyber Loading Screens and Lore Friendly Advert Replacer

This tutorial will cover the Wolvenkit aspects of making both these types of mods. You are on your own finding and editing images.

Discord has a couple of excellent modding channels where there are a lot of people willing to help. Cyberpunk2077 Modding Community and Cyberpunk2077 Modding are the ones I check occasionally.

Wolvenkit is a lot easier to use than most people think. Respect to the team behind it and who update it nightly. Awesome tool.

My writing style is a bit different than your usual dry techie type doc, so should be an easy read :-) Don't be afraid to explore making your own mods. It is a lot of fun. Enjoy.
