📋 About This Mod

TIME IS RUNNING OUT

In game, Viktor tells you you only have weeks to live, but the game never really follows up on that.  I was curious when the events in-game take place, and how long my playthroughs were actually lasting, so I made this mod for myself to track a day count.  It turns out that Cyberpunk's internal day count is... not consistent with the days experienced by V.  So this mod accounts for that.  It uses references to in-game months in a couple of shards to figure out when the Heist takes place, and then places the Rescue a few days before that, and the Prologue(s) six months prior to the Rescue.  With those offsets in place, as well as a few others for odd time jumps and braindance behavior, it manages to calculate a close-to-lore-accurate calendar date for your current playthrough.  Using a standard method, it then figures out the day of the week for that date.  So you can know that, in fact, you slaughtered those Tyger Claws on Thursday May 21st, 2077.

After the Heist, the mod starts to show the number of days that have passed since the Heist itself.  For now, this is purely informational.  Future iterations will use this to calculate optional debuffs to give some in-world immersion to the idea that, for V, time really is running out.

Features a NativeSettingsUI menu which supports 12 and 24 hour clocks; ISO, American, and European (day-first) date formats; and allows you to toggle both the day of the week and heist counter on or off.

To Install: extract in your base Cyberpunk 2077 game folder, or install with your preferred mod manager.

Currently in English only.

Compatibility with Scream81's minimap mods is in progress.  Currently works with their MinimapWidgets, CirclemapWidgets, and ClockWidget.

Compatible with The Downward SpiralI'll eventually add debuffs to this mod (as optional features), but you can get the same impact now by using these two mods side by side.

Works with existing saves

Version 1. 1 of this mod will work for existing saves that have not yet used this mod.

If you want to use it with a save that is currently running the 1. 0b version of this mod but which did not start the game with the 1. 0b version of this mod, then there's a bit of work to get the relic day count to reset. Open your save game and then open the CET console (with whatever hotkey you use to open CET).  In the console, type:

TIRO = GetMod("TimeIsRunningOut")

print(tostring(TIRO.heistCompleted))  --should be true

TIRO.heistCompleted = false

print(tostring(TRO.heistCompleted)) --should now be false

NOTE: if you're pre-heist or were pre-heist when you installed 1. 0b, this doesn't matter and it should w

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

Adds the calendar date, day of the week, and days since the heist to the minimap's time display in Payday 2. A small UI tweak for players who want quick reference to in-game dates without extra menus. 95 endorsements and 5,234 downloads show steady interest.

✨ Key Features

Shows the calendar date next to the time of day in the native minimap UI widget.
Displays the day of the week alongside the time.
Once a heist is finished, shows the number of days since that heist.
Integrates directly into the existing minimap UI, no extra menus.
Lightweight UI modification with a focused purpose.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Handy for immersion and planning—knowing the date and day at a glance is useful for time-sensitive objectives.
  • Tidy integration into the native minimap means no clutter or extra windows.
  • Decent community traction with 95 endorsements and over 5k downloads.

⚠️ Cons

  • Last updated in January 2026, but no confirmation of compatibility with the latest game patches.
  • Only shows days since the heist after it's finished, so it's not useful during the heist itself.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Payday 2 players who like to keep track of in-game time and dates for immersion or planning. Also for UI purists who want minimal, unobtrusive additions. Skip if you're looking for gameplay changes—this is purely informational.

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Since the mod modifies the minimap UI, make sure you have the latest version of the game and any required mod loaders (like BLT) installed.
  • If you're using a mod manager, check if it supports this mod; otherwise, manually place the files in the correct mods folder.
  • Test the mod in a solo heist first to see how the date and day display looks with your current UI setup.
