Recoded Videos (1.94 gb instead of 12.9 gb)

This mod is created for saving disk space, primarily for those who play on small SSDs or HDDs, steam deck or other portable consoles. In general, where every gigabyte is important. My goal is to compress video files so that they are as small as possible while still maintaining the original quality. Without changing the video resolution or frames per second.

Re-encoded campaign briefing cutscenes, perk tutorials, ads, tv, loading screens, ingame displays, camera feed, character creation videos.

In some videos the visual flaws is slightly noticeable. If you prefer max quality, then refuse to download this mod. I made this for myself and decided to share it with those who are not satisfied with a  huge bloated videos.

There are two mods to download:

1. The vanilla mod contains videos in their original resolution and frame rate.

2. The experimental mod is the same as the first but with upscaled ads and tv videos (1080p 30fps). This mod is experimental because it can cause image distortion in some tv videos and audio desynchronization. Some tv programs may even be silent.

I don't know the cause of these issues, because when exiting and re-entering the game, this videos could play as expected without issues. Use it if you don't have these issues.

Instead of 84,7 gigabytes (with 1 audio language, without REDlauncher and no mods) after applying this mod the game folder now takes up 73,7 gigabytes with vanilla tv+ads or 75 gigabytes with upscaled tv+ads.

Notice:

On the first launch, after applying the mod, the game might crash. Just launch it again and the game will start just fine.

Installation:

Backup basegame_5_video.archive in archive/pc/content, in case you decide to revert back.

Unzip Cyberpunk 2077 Recoded Videos.zip to the root game folder, with overwrite.
