Incoherent Rambling

While I can acknowledge that many pictures of fully chromed out Vs look cool, I personally prefer a more organic look when I actually play the game. I made this to eliminate some of the pain points I had with previous incarnations of this style of mod. The main point is that it supports fingernail colors in one package - and Vs actual player fingernails and shaders instead of NPC fingernails at that - no archive switcheroo to change colors.

With version 2. 0 I finally got the mess under control that is vanilla gorilla arms. What that means for you is that 1. no more waiting for changes to apply and 2. it now references whatever ganic arms you use - either vanilla or from a body mod - and whatever fingernail morphs you use. So if you use a body mod or a mod that overwrites nail colors or shapes this mod should use those changed meshes out of the box. Unless the creator of the mod went crazy in which case all bets are off.

Right, and the new version now has working garment support. Unlike the vanilla gorilla arms which are so messed up that not even gs works.

Installation

Drop the contents of the zip file(s) into your game's root folder like a caveperson or use a mod manager of your choice.

If you update from an earlier version of the mod, make sure to remove the earlier files!

How To Use

FRESH SAVE

No need to do anything. It just works.

EXISTING SAVE

When you load an existing save with gorilla arms, your V will have no fingernails. That's because the fingernails are linked through the character customization menu.

You need to open the character customization menu via mirror or ripperdoc once, change the fingernail color (you can change that back afterwards) and commit the changes. The fingernails will be synced with the selected fingernail options from character customization. You only need to do that once for existing playthroughs.

DEINSTALLATION

You can deinstall at any time and your savegame will be perfectly safe. However if your V has gorilla arms equipped, they will probably miss their (lower) arms and the fingernail things of the gorilla arms. To fix that go to a ripperdoc and change your V's skintone and fingernail color. You can change that back immediately, but it's important that you confirm your changes. Afterwards everything should be fine again.

Known Issues

In photo mode the visual effects from chemical/electrical/thermal gorilla arms are hovering above V's shoulders. That's because the ganic arms don't have the "anchor points" for the effects. Please don't report that as a bug
