Perkware 2.0 (Perks Integrated Into Cyberware)

I've always felt like the Cyberware system was perfectly designed for an RPG game, adding a really unique way to build your character. But I was a bit disappointed with a perk tree just being separate. It's much more immersive if your ability to air dash comes from a Cyberware upgrade instead of just magically learning to leap in the air by acquiring a perk. I’m also not a fan of being able to become a top tier Netrunner by the time you hit level 14 in vanilla because you put all your attributes and perk points into Netrunning.

Perkware switches up the RPG aspect by making every perk in the base game installable into Cyberware mod slots as 'software upgrades'. Perkware also separates perk unlocks from your attributes by gating them behind your main level/street cred instead, helping to stretch out player progression and moving perk unlocks to be more in line with Cyberware progression. This means you may start weaker but you end more powerful with more available perk mod slots at max level than perk points in the vanilla game, Plus there are some new mechanics to make building your character more fun, interactive and challenging.

If you can’t afford the latest soft, then you’re gonna fall behind choom, and Rippers ain’t gonna sell any wannabe edgerunner the flashiest tech when they have limited stock, increase your rep to access higher tier perks.

Cyberware

All Cyberware (except Arms and Operating System) gains mod slots for equipping perks
