# Why not "Manual Transmission" or "Semi Automatic Transmission Mod"

The existing mod Manual Transmission introduce synthetic gear that's often detached with in-game state ended up not realistic. Meaning speed will top out even though the car engine RPM isn't maxed out yet.

Another existing mod semi automatic transmission is the original inspiration for this mod and much more authentic in how the car behave compare to real life. My mod works very similar with addition that let you downshift very fast in sequent slowing the car down faster than typical braking. In real life this is known as heel toe downshifting in which driver would press brake pedal and downshift rev match at the same time making the car slow down from both brake caliper and engine braking.

This mod try to work in a way dynamically for how much engine braking should apply to particular car by reading the car gear ratio and engine RPM so that each downshift slow down enough for the next lower gear's speed range. So the game internal states are happy and let you connect your downshift in sequent pretty fast.

# Installation

To manually install, have the requirement mod installed. Download this mod, drop it into the game's root directory (Folder). Or use vortex mod manager (recommended)

# How to use 

Keybinds are done through CET keybind setting. I recommend setting toggle keybind to `=` , normal gear change to `Shift` and aggressive downshift to `Ctrl`.

The car will stuck in current gear until you press a keybind. So it's possible for you to hit that sweet rev limter and enjoy the sound.

The normal shift keybind will let the game go automatically into a appropriate gear based on your current speed.

The HeelToe downshift keybind will try to downshift and slow the car down aggressively.

# Why name PDK transmission?

PDK transmission is porsche's automatic gearbox notoriously known for its fast computer assisted shift. The game shift behaviour with this mod during the development made me recall the same feeling I had with real life PDK transmission.

KNOWN ISSUES: Sometimes, the widget display automatic mode but it is in semi mode or vice versa, if that happen simply try to reload the mod and try again.
