📋 About This Mod

Night City Badges is a lore-friendly overhaul of the Night City Police Department’s visual identity.

This mod standardizes NCPD uniforms, equipment, and appearance across ambient officers and named NPCs, bringing a more grounded, realistic, and cohesive law-enforcement presence to Night City.

The goal is consistency, clarity, and immersion — from street patrols to detective units — without disrupting the game or other mods.

Core NCPD Overhaul

  • []Standardized NCPD uniforms across ambient officers [/]

[]Cohesive gear layouts (holsters, badges, duty equipment)[/]

[]Visual consistency between patrol, tactical, and detective units[/]

[]Updated appearances for both unnamed and named NCPD NPCs[/]

    MaxTac Uniform Variants (Lore Interpretation)

With the Phantom Liberty update, CDPR introduced a blue MaxTac uniform without providing in-game context for the change.

This mod preserves both uniform variants and assigns them a functional meaning focused on identification purposes.

Black uniforms represent standard MaxTac operators recruited from within the NCPD. These officers passed the MaxTac application and training pipeline after years of service in patrol or detective roles. They are considered experienced, disciplined, and tactically reliable, and often serve as team leaders or operational handlers.

Blue uniforms represent cyber-augmented MaxTac specialists enlisted specifically for their extreme augmentations. Many are former cyberpsychos who were captured, stabilized, and redeployed under strict control measures. While they retain officer status, they are treated as high-risk assets rather than conventional officers internally.

    Compatible with:

    • []NCPD and MaxTac Spawn Tweak[/]

      []NCPD Prevention Police Enhancement[/]

      []NCPD Duty Expansion[/]

      []NCPD Uniform 2. 0 (with the patch)[/]

      Optional:

This mod only changes the appearance of police officers and does not require any patch to function. However, I have included tweaked NCPDPPE files to enhance immersion. These tweaks introduce greater variation based on district and heat level, as well as more specialized MaxTac responses.

Additionally, this optional file adds a small chance for officers to respond wearing plain clothes, increasing realism.

To use it, simply overwrite your existing NCPDPPE files and redeploy your mods using REDlauncher. Do not use Vortex.

This add-on was originally designed for Night City Fleet Expansion, so it is required for full intended functionality.
