📋 About This Mod
Better Flashlight
A configurable player flashlight using the game's native light component. Unlike other flashlight mods, NPCs in hostile areas will actually react to your light. They'll investigate the beam and detect you faster. Where you aim matters. Shining it directly at an NPC, or even sweeping it across a wall in their line of sight, will draw attention.
-
[]Fully Configurable — Brightness, range, beam width, edge softness, fade time, and color are all adjustable.[/]
[]Color Presets — White, Warm White, Red, Green, Blue, Orange, Aqua, Yellow, or full manual RGB.[/]
[]Rebindable Toggle — Set any key in Native Settings. Supports optional modifier keys (Ctrl+F, Alt+F, Shift+F).[/]
[]Controller Support — Bindable to any gamepad button with optional D-Pad modifiers (D-Pad Up + button, etc.).[/]

In restricted and dangerous zones, your flashlight is a liability. NPCs will react to it through two systems:
-
[]Visibility Boost — While the flashlight is on, your Visibility stat increases. Enemies within detection range will spot you faster through their normal awareness.[/]
[]Directional Investigation — NPCs can be triggered to investigate based on where the beam is aimed:[/]
How It Works
[]Direct Hit — Aim the beam at an NPC and they're alerted immediately.[/]
[]Peripheral Awareness — Sweep the beam near an NPC (hitting a wall, the floor, etc.) and if they're facing toward it, they'll notice and investigate.[/]
[]Facing Matters — NPCs facing away from the beam won't react, even if it passes close to them.[/]
[]Safe Zones — Detection only activates in restricted and dangerous areas. No reaction in safe zones or the open world.[/]
