📋 About This Mod
Mass Effect style, Armor Bars for enemies
In vanilla Cyberpunk, enemy Armor is hidden, which makes playing around it or using Armor Penetration kind of flat. This mod scraps vanila armor system for enemies, and replaces it with new Mass Effect style Armor bar, for armored Enemies. On top of thal, all of the weapons were rebalanced, to either be good at dealing with armor, or dealing with Unarmored Enemies.
Tiered Armor System
With this mod, only enemies that will have one of the scannable Armor Abilities, mech, and bosses, will have the new Armor Bar. To damage them, the armor have to destroyed first, and only than they will be taking damage to health (with some exceptions). The armor bar, have hit point, and also reduces % of the damage taken, while the armor is intact.
For each Tier of Armor enemy has(between 1-4), the Enemy will have separate pool of armor points, each with separate Damage Reduction.
Enemies with Armor, will also be immune to bleeding, have higher treshold for staggers, and cannot be knocked down, while their armor is up!
By default, each tier of armor, gives armor points, equal to 40% of Enemy full HP, with armor reduction being:
50% for Tier 1, 75% for Tier 2, 85% for Tier 3 and 95% for Tier 4.
This means, that should roughly mean, that without any means to deal with Armored enemies, Tier 1 Armored enemies, will be just a bit more durable, Tier 2, should be very durable, Tier 3 will be hard to kill, and Tier 4 would be almost impossible to deal with.
Example of Enemy with Tier 4 Armor:
The armor Tiers are distributed to enemies, based on their faction, their rarity. For example, Scavs will almost never have armor, 6th street would have some members have very light, or medium armor, and most corpos will sport at least Tier 2 or higher. You can also expect bosses, minibosses and mechanical enemies, to have better Armor too.
Dealing with Armor
Armor Penetration stat, now not only now reduces damage reduction, but also deals extra damage to Armor too, which makes having at least 1 weapon with hight Armor Penetration quite valuable to have.
To not make Armor Penetration weapons, not the only correct way to play the game, there are 2 more systems in play.
Some of the enemies, will use Addrenaline, similiar to player, which acts as extra health, and can regenerate in combat, and lots of weapon types, that won't have any armor penetration, will instead have bonus damage, to unarmored enemies, which will make them preferable to dealing with enemies without armor / with forms of healing or with access to generate adrena
