📋 About This Mod
The game files still have a lot of unused shards, emails, and documents, and most of them are unused for good reason - earlier drafts, redundant copies, or things the writers deliberately left out for the sake of the story a quest is telling. That kind of content should stay cut and this mod does not touch it.
But a smaller subset of this "cut content" doesn't fit that category. These are fully written, fully localized records that were clearly made for their quests and never appeared in them because of simple human error: whether that’s an item injected into the wrong character, a journal path left empty, a placeholder inbox cloned onto a second device and never replaced.
If you read them alongside the quests they belong to, its obvious players were never meant to miss them. Most of this content has no record of existing anywhere online (like on wikis) which means it's gone unread since launch. This mod puts that content back where the quest data and the story both say it belongs. In several cases a single restored file reframes its entire gig like a rigged card game behind a stolen heirloom or a funeral paid for by the only man who remembered who the deceased used to be.
The mod restores 22 written records across gigs and NCPD scanner hustles.
To be crystal clear about scope: these are all written content fixes and most are small - a two line maintenance memo or a thank you note because that's what environmental storytelling looks like, especially in gigs and scanner hustles where there's little dialogue and players are trusted to piece the story together from what is not directly spoken to the player. Some of these change what their gigs ultimately mean but don't expect to find new choices or endings or dialogue or a hidden moon DLC.
How the content was judged
Every restored entry had to pass a strict evidence standard before I touched it:
The technical filters were:
- The record has to be valid i.e. it has a localized entry and isn't obviously empty or marked "OBSOLETE"/other markers that the devs used to indicate clearly abandoned content + isn't already present and duplicated in another form in the game
- The record is completely absent from the game world as verified by a full scan of over 26,000 sectors across the base game and Phantom Liberty as well as the quest data
Each survivor then had to pass a writer's check too: the entry has to genuinely add something to its quest, whether that means closing a loop the quest opens, explaining a prop or location the level presents without context, or deepening the story in a way that stays consistent with everything already there.
Anything that just repea
Lost Content (Quest Content Fixes) restores fully localized emails, files, and shards that exist in the game but never appear, across 18 gigs and scanner hustles. A focused fix for players who want to experience all the hidden narrative content without missing pieces.
