📋 About This Mod

Update 1. 0. 3 - New version adds NCPD heat to the player if they fail a hack (configurable, can be turns off or turned up).

HACK THE GIBSON

An unsecured datamine relay for every terminal in Night City.

THE IDEA

Netrunning is the only build in Cyberpunk 2077 with no way to practise it.

A solo can go looking for a fight. A blades build can walk into a scav den at three in the morning and come out better at what it does. But breach protocol only happens where the game decides to put an access point, and when it does, the daemon list is chosen for you — a camera shutdown you do not need, a turret override in a room with no turrets, and if you are lucky, a datamine buried behind them.

The one thing a netrunner would actually want to do on purpose — sit down at a terminal and pull money out of the net — is the one thing the game never lets you choose.

WHAT IT DOES

Adds a page to the computer browser: HACK THE GIBSON.

Open it on any working terminal in the game and you get three targets to breach. Pick one and the breach protocol minigame opens with exactly three daemons staged — Datamine V1, V2 and V3 — and nothing else. No camera malfunctions. No turret shutdowns. Just the loot.

Upload what your buffer can reach and you are paid in eddies, quickhack components and quickhack crafting specs, scaled to your Netrunner skill.

THREE TARGETS

  • []Breach // User Distro — 5x5 grid, 60 second trace, short daemon strings. Baseline payout.[/]

[]Breach // Corporate Intranet — 6x6 grid, 45 second trace, longer strings. Double payout.[/]

[]Breach // Government Database — 7x7 grid, 30 second trace, long strings and one buffer slot short. Triple payout.[/]

The board is not a difficulty label attached to the same puzzle. A bigger grid with longer sequences and less time is a genuinely harder solve, and on Government Database you will often have to choose wh

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

Hack the Gibson adds a repeatable netrunning practice page to any terminal in Cyberpunk 2077, letting you breach three difficulty tiers (User Distro, Corporate Intranet, Government Database) for eddies, quickhack components, and crafting specs scaled to Netrunner skill. Update 1.0.3 adds configurable NCPD heat on failed hacks. Ideal for netrunner builds wanting to train or grind loot.

✨ Key Features

Adds a 'HACK THE GIBSON' page to every working terminal's browser in Cyberpunk 2077.
Three breach targets: User Distro (5x5, 60s), Corporate Intranet (6x6, 45s, double payout), Government Database (7x7, 30s, triple payout, one less buffer slot).
Breach protocol minigame stages only Datamine V1, V2, V3 daemons—no camera or turret daemons.
Payouts include eddies, quickhack components, and quickhack crafting specs, scaled to Netrunner skill.
Update 1.0.3 adds configurable NCPD heat on failed hacks (can be turned off or increased).

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Turns any terminal into a netrunning training ground—finally a way to practice breach protocol without hunting access points.
  • Three genuine difficulty levels with bigger grids, tighter timers, and higher payouts—not just cosmetic labels.
  • Configurable NCPD heat on failure adds stakes; turn it off for chill grinding or crank it up for challenge.

⚠️ Cons

  • If you leave NCPD heat enabled, a failed practice hack can bring police down on you mid-grind.
  • Government Database tier requires a beefy cyberdeck buffer; low-level netrunners can't hit the long strings with one fewer slot.
  • Only three breach targets total—could get stale after you've farmed enough components and specs.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Cyberpunk 2077 netrunner builds who want a repeatable way to practice breach protocol and farm quickhack loot without random access points. Great for players who enjoy minigame optimization and scaling difficulty. Skip if you don't play a netrunner or want new story content—this is a gameplay loop addition, not a quest.
📦 Install:Easy· Under 1 minute

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Use terminals in safe areas (your apartment, Afterlife) to practice without enemies interrupting, especially if you enable NCPD heat.
  • Upgrade your cyberdeck RAM and buffer size before attempting Corporate Intranet or Government Database—those longer strings need the extra slots.
  • Toggle NCPD heat off in the mod settings for pure practice, then turn it up later for risk/reward grinding.
