Eurojank Traffic and Crowds

The traffic config switches up the colorful retrofuture traffic in favor of a more modern blend of gray coupes, SUV's and trucks.

Most of the retrofuture designs are stated to have been manufactured decades before the year of 2077, so it makes sense for them to be more rare than the '70s neokitch designs. I have included a few real-life cars that fit the games art-direction in the traffic, in case you have mods for them installed.

Why would you want ugly and boring traffic in the game? It makes driving a Quadra feel special.

There are a lot Deleon coupes and Mizutani Hozukis, along with vans. Thorton Merrimac MSL3 and Ford Hennessey Velociraptor make a frequent appearance. You will spot an Uarog from time to time, too.

The list of vehicles that the mod swaps is rather short, consisting of sports cars and Villefort Alvarado. Another title for this mod could just be "Remove Villefort Alvarado". The car has always struck me as something that would be very niche, but the game thinks otherwise, maybe because it has a really interesting design. Making it a common car just oversaturates it, though.

Purely retrofuture cars like Villefort Cortes become something you see in poor neighborhoods or burned up in the roadside, as little pieces of history. Thorton Colby is the exception, since it's stated to be the best-selling car in America.

"Poor" vehicles are not included in the pool of swappable vehicles, meaning that places like Pacifica and Dogtown will not have Rayfields and Lamborghinis in the traffic. Swapping "utility" vehicles results in glitches, so I have removed them from the pool. A Behemoth truck can spawn in a parking spot and wreck the car in front of it, but that event is extremely rare and does not disrupt your gameplay.

I have included various work vehicles in the pool of replacement cars to make it feel like there is a living economy. You will notice Combat Cab, Corp Bud and Revere Courier Services driving around the town where they previously shined in their absence outside of specific quests. While the aesthetic of the traffic is more drab than the "Hot Wheels" vibe of the basegame, it is a lot more varied and full of surprises. Seeing a Netwatch van casually driving in the road is the absolute highlight of this config mod.

The traffic configuration includes several modded vehicles, and I have not tested if this makes the game crash without having them installed.

The optional crowd configuration file tunes Nova Crowds to be more conservative. It only swaps crowd NPC's now, in contrast to the factory settings where homeless people get the appearance of monks and rich corpos.
