Equippable Vanilla Nails for Masc and Fem V

Description

This mod provides finger nails from the base game as equippable ArchiveXL items, with additional support for the NPC-only extra-long nails, and the ability to simply hide nails if you don't want them. You can choose independently for each hand.

The mod uses the new nail_colors capability in ArchiveXL to automatically track the nail appearance from the Character Creator, so you don't have to deal with hundreds of different items in your wardrobe.

Now, why is this useful? After all, most of this mod is just the regular player nails, looking the same as they always have. There are a few benefits:

  []When you are using Gorilla arms as your functional cyberarm, the game completely hides nails. If you then use one of my cyberarm modes with organic fingers, you'll have no nails. This mod lets you ensure there are nails present no matter what functional cyberarm you use.[/]

  []Similarly, there are some situations where using Mantis arms with a cyberarm mod will result in hidden nails that this mod can address[/]

  []Lets you experiment with using regular nails with my various cyberarm mods. Even the ones without organic fingers can sometimes produce good looking combinations[/]

  This mod is compatible with my Cyberware Injector mod if you want to integrate nail choices into a loadout.

  Compatibility

  These nails should be compatible with all body mods. That's a bold claim, but it seems to be supported by the evidence. There is little room for finger tips to be too divergent before they cease to be compatible with animations and the equipment that players can hold.

  However, the nails will definitely not make sense with all my cyberarm mods. Most of them have their own concept of nails that are integral part of the hand, and usually don't play well with nails, but you can experiment, and might find a surprising good combination.

  Colour Options

  There are no independent colour options in this mod. The nails support all the base game Character Creator nail appearances, and you pick what you want in the CC.

  If you use one of the various colour-replacer nails mods that replace the CC colours with different ones, these should be compatible with this mod. I haven't test this, but in principle, this mod should pick up those replacement colours.

  There is currently no support for new nail appearances in CCXL, but if that does emerge, this mod could be extended to support them.
