Cyberpunk Log Viewer

If you've ever felt the frustration of manually sifting through all the game files to search for logs (or if you're just curious), Cyberpunk Log Viewer (CLV) is for you! Just locate the game folder, and the program will find the logs for you, which you can view immediately, either with the very minimalistic viewer included or a program that you choose.

Important note

I've finished the new version, which is now available here. The previous one will remain downloadable (along with the source code) but won't be updated anymore.

Installation

Just download CLV and run it anywhere you'd like.¹

Side note: when I update the app, Nexus automatically quarantines it because it is the first "mod" I posted here. This is fixed in a day but in the meantime, you can download it on my GitHub (link in the "Mirrors" menu) or even compile it yourself if you don't trust me.

How it works

Just follow what's written on the buttons. It's quite minimalistic (at least for now), and you can't mess anything up as it just reads content. Then just select a file in the list and click on the button at the bottom, or just double-click the log you want to see.

If you want to open the logs with another program, just right-click the file, select "open with" and locate it. If you want to copy the path to the file/folder, you can also do it by right-clicking.

There is also a toggle for scanning either select folders (list below) or the whole game folder.²

Current limitations

  I am aware of those and plan on addressing all of them eventually, although I don't have any fixed roadmap.

  However, while these are fixable, it brings me to the next section...

  Unfixable (mostly) limitations

  First, there is no syntax highlighting when viewing the logs. This is because I know that everyone has their own way of writing logs, which makes it way harder to highlight properly. However, I haven't researched the subject so, if I find a way to add it in CLV without too much hassle, I'll do it.

  Second, the UI is quite barebones. That is because I know absolutely nothing about design, and I have found that it is very time-consuming and sometimes tedious to do proper design. And personally, I'd rather spend more time adding new features than learning design. However, I s
