With Change V’s Native Language, you can set V’s voice to Brazilian Portuguese, Mandarin Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, or European Spanish.

    Subtitle Configuration in-game:

    You can configure your subtitle language under Settings → Language.

    You can configure your subtitle settings under Settings → Accessibility.

    - Cinematic subtitles: Show voiceover subtitles at the bottom of the screen during conversations.

    - Overhead subtitles: Show subtitles above NPCs’ heads for ambient dialogue.

    If both are ON, you’ll see subtitles for all dialogue.

    If both are OFF, you’ll only see subtitles when the Kiroshi tag is triggered.

    Kiroshi Tag

    The Kiroshi Tag works similarly to the Kiroshi Translation Effect from Cosmopolitan Night City, but without the animated translation.

    Instead, it instantly displays V’s dialogue in your chosen subtitle language.  It’s applied when V speaks a language different from your subtitle language, ensuring you understand their lines without enabling full game subtitles.  If the spoken language matches your subtitle language, the tag is not applied.

    This keeps subtitles limited to relevant lines and avoids clutter, especially since V has a lot of dialogue, but still lets you have subtitles for V’s dialogue
