Better Recon Grenades (--Broken in 1.3--)

The 1. 3 update broke recon grenades! The class I was modifying no longer exists, but it doesn't particularly matter because the base vanilla functionality of recon grenades is no longer working. Until CDPR fixes the base functionality of recon grenades, there's no way to get Better Recon grenades working again... and even if and when they do fix recon grenades, there's no guarantee they'll fix them in a way that can still be accessed through scripts. The best we can do is hope right now. Leaving the mod up for visibility, but there's no point downloading it unless you go back to version 1. 2. 3.

Better Recon Grenades

Recon grenades are cool, and really useful if you're playing a stealth build using sandevistan instead of a deck (and thus can't use ping)... except for one problem: they only highlight NPCs. Cameras and turrets don't show up, which means you plan your assault, tag all the enemies to keep track of them, and run into a room where you think no one's looking, only to realize you ran straight into a camera's line of sight and your stealth attack is over before it started.

Better Recon Grenades is a simple modification to recon grenades to make them highlight turrets and cameras so that you can tag them.

Additionally, optional files are provided that increase the detection range of the recon grenades. At 15 meters, I found myself having trouble getting full coverage of most areas. The mod offers 2x (30 meter), 3x (45 meter), and 4x (60 meter) range increases - at 4x, you can pretty much paint just about any given area completely, basically making it a device equivalent of the ping quickhack. Up to you whether you think that's overpowered.

Installation

Install with vortex, or simply extract the contents of the zip file to your Cyberpunk 2077 directory.

Requirements

Requires redscript. Only tested with redscript 0. 2. 0 - earlier versions may not compile the script.
