📋 About This Mod

The AI system of Cyberpunk 2077 is actually quite brillant. However, some values supposed to trigger that system are set so cautiously (if at all), it is not being activated sometimes. This mod tries to address the issue, hopefully giving players an even more immersive experience with Cyberpunk.

Current features

  • []Adds and/or fixes AI stimuli broadcasts for doors, body disposals & radios, including proper differentiation between interaction types and their corresponding stimuli (e.g. in vanilla, quickhacking a door to open it emits the same sound for NPCs as "unlocking" it via brute force, while reactions to normal door interactions are inconsistent at best)

[]Increases various stimuli ranges, categorized by loudness (customizable)

[]Fixes some odd NPC behaviour in Public Zones

[]100% customizable via Native Settings Mod Menu

[]v0. 2: Adds a sprinting noise slider & a sprinting noise reduction mechanic based on stealth perks (Feline Footwork & Ninjutsu)

[]v0. 3: Adds customizable "noise" for all major locomotion/movement types (walk, sprint, jumps, landings) as suggested by UnforgivenWar

-> Mechanics like the Sonic Shock Quickhack or Lynx Paws Cyberware work as intended with this mod!

Installation

It's recommended to use a mod manager like Mod Organizer 2 or Vortex for installation.

Alternatively, you can manually extract the folders from the zip-archive into your game's main folder. (e.g. for Steam: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Cyberpunk 2077\)

redscript and Native Settings UI are a hard requirement for this mod to work.

Compatibility

I've kept this mod as non-invasive as possible, using minimal scripting and only hooking functions I really needed to. It doesn't touch the

actual AI code at all, but only the functions supposed to activate it.

As such, v0. 1 should be compatible with pretty much anything.

However, there might be (fixable) conflicts between redscript and REDmods like Night City Alive. According to redscript's author, jac3km4:

NOTE FOR REDMOD USERS

There is a known compatibility issue with REDmod. To use redscript with REDmod you should to install either RED4ext (recommended) or cybercmd. Do not install both. Once installed, the REDmod compatibility should be resolved.Feel free to inform me about any compatibility issues you encounter, and I will look into it. Thanks <3

Version 0. 2+ of this mod will be incompatible with anything that alters the Locomotion Stimuli System, like Louder Locomotion

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

AI Trigger Overhaul makes NPCs more perceptive, reacting to the player's actions instead of ignoring them. Fully customizable via the Native Settings Mod Menu, it's a lightweight gameplay tweak for players who want more immersive NPC behavior.

✨ Key Features

Improves NPC reactions to the player, making them less deaf and blind.
Fully customizable via the Native Settings Mod Menu.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Solid endorsement count (336) shows it's a trusted mod in the community.
  • Over 22,000 downloads indicate real demand for more perceptive NPCs.
  • Customizable settings let you tailor NPC awareness to your playstyle.

⚠️ Cons

  • Requires the Native Settings Mod Menu, so you'll need an extra dependency.
  • Last updated over a year ago (Feb 2026) – may not be compatible with the latest game patches.
🎯 Is This For You?
For players who hate it when NPCs ignore gunshots or walk right past you. If you want a more reactive world without overhauling the whole AI system, this is for you. Skip if you're fine with vanilla NPC obliviousness or don't want to install extra mod menus.
📦 Install:Easy· 5-10 minutes

💡 Beginner Tips

  • After installing, open the Native Settings Mod Menu in-game to adjust trigger distances and reaction thresholds.
  • Start with default settings and tweak gradually to avoid NPCs reacting too strongly to minor actions.
  • If you're using other AI mods, test in a busy area to ensure they don't conflict.
