Better beginning

Give your new farm a spring head start. Better beginning adds a complete spring planting pack and useful equipment when you create a new single-player save for those that have ideally played through the game before. Your vanilla starting tools, seeds and consumables are kept.

What you receive

- 8 of each of the 16 spring seed packets: potato, strawberry, radish, carrot, turnip, cauliflower, pea, sugarcane, cucumber, chard, lettuce, peony, daisy, soybean, snowdrop and poppy.

- 2 of each of the 8 spring saplings and seedlings: durian, orange, plum, lychee, banana, rambutan, avocado and snake fruit. Includes plants whose growing seasons include spring alongside another season.

- 2 Sprinkler III (Grade 3 Sprinkler). (Added an auditional one after playing for myself)

- 1 Auto SFH (Seed/Fertilizer/Harvester).

- 20 Explosive III (Grade 3 Explosives).

- 1 million gold.

- 5 Flying Insect Traps. (New)

- 5 Ground Insect Traps (New)

- 5 Bamboo Net Large (New)

- 500 Fertilizer III (New)

The pack adds 27 stacks to empty inventory slots. Vanilla turnip and daisy seeds stay in their original stacks; normal inventory sorting can combine them later. Rank-locked plants are included through direct item creation. Your town rank, shop unlocks and progression are not changed.

Requirements

- Windows Steam Coral Island 1. 3-1249. This version checks the executable identity and disables itself on unsupported builds.

- UE4SS.

- Storage Expanded, installed and enabled (tested with 1. 0. 1). This is a hard requirement: the mod checks that its DLL is loaded and bag capacity is at least 40.

Dependencies are not bundled. No pack is granted if a required item lookup fails or fewer than 27 empty inventory slots are available.

Installation

Install and enable Storage Expanded and its requirements first. In Vortex, install the Starter Kit Mod archive with the Coral Island UE4SS support extension, select UE4SS / Lua Mods, enable it and deploy. This is a native UE4SS mod.

For manual installation, extract the archive into Coral Island/ProjectCoral/Binaries/Win64. The DLL should be at Mods/StarterKitMod/dlls/main.dll, with enabled.txt inside Mods/StarterKitMod.

Install before creating a new character. The kit is granted automatically during initial save setup; no key press is needed.

Coral Bliss compatibility

Locally tested with Coral Bliss 1. 7. 5 actively loaded, using its bundled UE4SS runtime. Preserve the loader required by your Coral Bliss version. The tested overlapping settings were ChestSlotMult=1, BagUpgradeMult=1, BagAutoScroll=false, with no Extra Bag Slots action applied. Keep those settings for the tested Storage Expanded configuration.

The mod calls the original starting-loadout function first, then appends its items only on the fresh-save path. It does not replace loadout assets or edit town rank. See the included validation notes for exact runtime hashes and test scope. Compatibility with every Coral Bliss feature or settings combination is not claimed.

Existing saves, saving and uninstalling

Existing saves and New Game Plus do not receive this pack. Installing on an existing Spring 1 save does not grant it retroactively. Normal save/reload preserves the items and does not grant another pack.

To uninstall, disable Starter Kit Mod. Items already saved remain ordinary game items. Keep Storage Expanded while items occupy its added slots.

Testing and support

Local tests verified all 27 new stacks, preservation of the 8 vanilla stacks, save/restart/reload persistence, the missing-dependency block, no retroactive grant and a release-build new save with active Coral Bliss. Single-player was tested; multiplayer was not validated.

If the pack is missing, check the game build, enabled Storage Expanded, Vortex deployment type and whether the character was created after installation. For support, include your game build, UE4SS version, Storage Expanded version and relevant StarterKitMod lines from a fresh UE4SS log.
