Modern air combat training demonstration – 2016 Taiwan Strait

Playable Side: China (PLA) / Spectator Difficulty: Medium Location: Taiwan Strait Date: 2016 Background: In 2016, cross-strait relations escalated sharply. To counter increasingly frequent provocations and validate the Air Force's capabilities in "system-of-systems" combat within a complex electromagnetic environment, the Eastern Theater Command has been ordered to organize a high-intensity, combat-oriented air operation. Overview: This scenario is designed to simulate the elements of modern high-intensity air warfare, specifically focusing on system-integrated combat. Players will command a composite formation comprising J-16, J-11B, and J-10B fighters. With support from the KJ-500 AWACS and GX-11 electronic warfare aircraft, the force will execute missions to seize Air Superiority and conduct Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD). Tactical Focus: AEW & Electronic Warfare: Learn to leverage the detection advantages of the KJ-500 and the jamming capabilities of the GX-11 to degrade the enemy's situational awareness (SA). Beyond Visual Range (BVR) Combat: Utilize the superior radar and missile performance of the J-16 and J-11B to engage and neutralize hostile F-16 and IDF formations. Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD): Direct JH-7A strike aircraft to cripple the enemy's west coast air defense network using YJ-91 anti-radiation missiles. Ground-Air Coordination: Establish a robust rear-guard Anti-Access/Area Denial (A2/AD) protective umbrella utilizing the S-300PMU-2 SAM system.
