CMGO - Frontal Assault - Mixed Forest/Grassland #1

FRONTAL ASSAULT Mixed Forest/Grassland #1 The rolling fields, grasslands and thickets of forests of Germany were for a long time the presumed frontlines of the third world war which never happened. The diverse environment found in this area would offer those fighting within a multitude of options. Europe's vast road and railroad network allowed reinforcements and supplies to arrive quickly. Small concentrations of forests overlooking grass and croplands gave defenders plenty of possible ambush locations. Cities and towns would serve as hardpoints for the enemy and rest stops for allied forces, an oasis in a sea of green. The varied environment of Europe would be the training grounds for hundreds of thousands of Warsaw Pact and NATO soldiers throughout the cold war, and any reputable commander (or armchair general) of the time would need to make the best of the diverse terrain... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This scenario takes place during a hypothetical World War Three, beginning in 1972. Utilize your fighter-bombers to achieve air superiority and provide close air support for your ground forces. Nuclear weapons are disallowed this scenario. This scenario is only playable by the West-German (FRG) side. This scenario is influenced by and directly based on the "Frontal Assault" scenario in the fantastic cold war tactical strategy game "Armored Assault".
