Controls: x (Press) = Ignition X (Hold) = Reverse/Forwards Switch W = Throttle/Clutch Spacebar = Brake A & D = Steering History: In 1965 Kongsmetall saw the need for a Norwegian made medium sized garden tractor and promptly went to design a simple yet effective 1 cylinder engine which could power such a tractor. This then engine was named the BM-1-66 (Bensinmotor 1 Sylinder 1966). The BM-1-66 was then fitted with a 2 speed high gear ratio gearbox which could be used for such a tractor. Over a couple of years and various design proposals the final design for the GT-68 (Garden Tractor 1968) was birthed. The reasoning behind the english name and acronym was for ease of exportation to countries such as england and the United States. The tractor featured a spedometer, powerful headlights, a proper battery and good driving characteristics. The tractor being very simple in design made it cheap to produce and therefore came in at a low price which made it extremely accesible to the public. One issue with the GT-68 was that maintainance could be problematic as removing the engine cover required disconnecting the light bulbs for the headlights from inside the engine compartment. This was a difficult task for those who were of a large figure. Overall the GT-68 turned out to be a very well recieved and flexible platform as a garden tractor with many thousands being made.
