Diegetic Music

One thing that absolutely drives me nuts in visual media is out of setting music. If the characters in the scene would not be able to hear something, I should not hear it either. That goes double for overbearing orchestral pieces meant to hammer in a mood.

Most of the music found in BioShock is of this unwelcome nature, but there are some exceptions. Unfortunately, however, the volume control for music makes no distinction between diegetic music (which the characters can hear) and background music (which they cannot). This means that setting the music volume to zero will also silence all those phonographs and radios.

This mod works around that problem by directly replacing all non-diegetic music tracks with silence, so you can hear only the music that actually exists in Rapture. As a bonus, it also replaces the remaining music tracks in BioShock Remastered with higher bitrate ones, extracted from the original game.

Installation

• []Back up the FSB files in the '\BioShock Remastered\ContentBaked\pc\Sounds_Windows\' directory
