This mod will reduce some challenge from game play unless difficulty is increased in other ways to compensate. Testing for this mod version was done with Battletech version 1. 2. 1-345 using the Gog Galaxy game client. It may or may not work with other versions or game installations. Version 0. 9. 2 of the mod is not friendly with other mods - a friendly version for use with a mod manager is planned.

Installation of Version 0. 9. 2

Backup your game files. Find the folder named StreamingAssets within this mod. Copy this folder. Find the folder in the path within your installation directory: BATTLETECH\BattleTech_Data\StreamingAssets. Paste the data folder from the mod to merge it into the data folder that is inside the StreamingAssets folder for the game. Paste the file VersionManifest.csv from the mod into the StreamingAssets folder for the game, replacing the existing game file. Merge folders and copy and replace all files if prompted to do so. The mod is now installed. To uninstall, delete the entire data folder and VersionManifest.csv file and replace with the data folder and VersionManifest.csv file from the backup you made in the first step.

This mod makes SLDF mechs stronger within the game. This is accomplished by swapping in more powerful weapons. The addition of higher quality lostech weapons is included. Existing higher quality versions in the game files are swapped in to replace standard quality versions of standard weapons. New higher quality versions of lostech weapons have been created using existing similar higher quality weapons as a guide. The standard quality versions of lostech weapons have been retained but the SLDF mechs no longer use them. Standard SLDF mech files will be overwritten during mod installation. The SLDF mechs are now considerably more powerful to match the intimidating reputation that they have in the main story of the game. Quality levels were chosen to give approximate analogues to available similar weapons in the game. The SLDF mechs now have considerably more offensive strength for the balance level of the base game but the defensive strength was barely touched and measures should be taken to limit incoming damage.

Version  0. 9. 2 Details

Version  0. 9. 2 of the mod is meant for standalone use with the Battletech game and is unlikely to work with most other mods. A version that is friendly with other mods is next on the to do list.
