RNG Items Generation

I recently got into playing Battletech a lot.

Been liking the game very much, and vanilla is getting a little stale, so I went out looking for mods,

yet the overhaul mods that exist out there are either way too complicated, too bloated, or gets boring after a while.

The vanilla experience with some simple enhancing mods are pretty good for me, but need some spicing up.

Especially the part for gear varieties.

Not finding much that's standalone and suitable for me, I decided to make my own mod, and here it is.

Note:

Do be aware that this mod is in a very early stage.

There might be bugs that I don't quite catch, and you're very welcome to report them if you went testing this.

Expect updates and changes that may require your settings to be wiped as well if I update.

I'll leave a post, or add it into the file desc when it's required.

Also, each randomized item that you owned have their own JSON file, so eventually your game might slow down during start-up or save loading.

If that happens, you can always delete all the data folders inside the RNGItems folder, that will clean everything. It may break your save though, so only clean up if you plan to start a new campaign or career.

Do not save & load during combat if you have enabled RNG items spawn for AI.

Mod Compatibility:

I've tried to design the mod to be as compatible as possible, however I don't know how much all the big overhauls edits the game.

So there might be conflicts with the big mods, I've yet to encounter anything incompatible with it however. Especially JSON only mod, those should never conflicts.

If you found any mods that is incompatible, please leave a message and I'll try to look and resolve it if possible.

Gameplay Changes:

This mod give random effects to the item basic stats, no drastic changes. That means items won't suddenly have additional status effects etc.

The only way you can get modified items is by salvaging, these won't show up in shops.

It also enables RNG items to be spawned for all AI mechs and vehicles (weapon only for vehicles).

Other exceptions are built-in components, those are specifically left behind.

For a detailed list of stat changes and configurations, you can configure them to your own need and taste.

My default config is just there for the sake of it, it's likely to be unbalanced.

Requirement:

• Probably ModTek, I haven't tried with HBS built-in mod loader.
