Persistent Characters

DESCRIPTION

This mod allows characters to persist across campaigns. Several mod settings are available for the player to tailor their experience to their liking.

• []Characters can persist across campaigns.

  []Characters from one campaign can appear as recruits in settlements in your future campaigns, with all their perks, items and levels intact.

  []Persistent stats such as total number of kills, battles, days and permanent injuries are tracked.

  []A unique event where a character from one of your older campaigns offers to join you in your current campaign.

  []Import/Export feature to allow you to share your characters with others or save them for importing them later into another campaign at will.

  WARNING:

  • []A future update of the mod may require your previously saved characters to be wiped. But the mod is fully playable at the moment, so enjoy!

    []If you add/remove mods, make sure to check the Mod Settings IN YOUR CAMPAIGN (not on Main Menu) to set which mods will be required for saved bros from this campaign to reappear. Basically any mod that you cannot safely remove from a save-game should be checked here. This is important as bros will be forbidden to appear in campaigns where they are missing necessary mods compared to when they were last saved.

    []Similarly for Import/Export of bros, naturally you need to make sure you aren't missing any necessary feature mods that the bro was saved with.

    HOW TO USE

    It works automatically

    Just drop the mod in your data folder and it will work out of the box. Then play your campaigns. Whenever you save game, your characters will be saved and then they can appear as recruits in future campaigns in towns or via events.

    Mod Settings

    All the mod settings are self-explanatory or have useful tooltips to describe their effect. Various mod settings such as Spawn Chance, Min Level to Spawn, Min Level to Save, Required Renown, Permanent Injuries, Perma Death etc. are available.

    Compatibility

    • []Compatible with ALL mods, including large overhaul mods like Legends and Reforged.

      []During your campaign (NOT ON THE MAIN MENU) make sure to go to the Mod Options of Persistent Characters and check all the mods which will are "necessary" for bros from this campaign to spawn with. This ensures that when you add/remove mods or when you export the bros and try to import them, they won't be allowed to be imported unless the necessary mods are installed.

      []These mod settings are tracked on a per-campaign basis independently.
