Burton and Keaton's 'Batman Returns' (1992) - ReShade

"Batman Returns" has my favorite look out of all the live-action Batman movies.

I love how cold, gothic, theatrical, and dark it looks.

It's one of my favorite Christmas movies, and yet, like YouTuber Linkara once said, it's about the aspects of the holidays we don't often see represented.

Consumistic greed. Searching for a warm place during the cold. What that search can make us become. Men and women who become animals... and vice-versa.

But, in order to tell that story in the most operatic way possible, you need the atmosphere to convey that cold. That darkness. And man if they delivered.

That's the look I attempted to bring with this ReShade.

The idea was to bring the right balance of glossy darkness and cold neon light that made the movie.

It's a movie that makes you see the appeal of Gotham as this beautifully scary Gothic nightmare. Like the early draft for the script by Sam Hmm said: It’s finally happened; Hell’s frozen over."

Now, I'm not Tim Burton/Stefan Czapsky, but I get the vibe of the movie while playing with this-- and I hope you do too.

(Remember to download ReShade to use this mod! It won't work if you just put it into the DLC folder where you add other stuff like suits and such).
