📋 About This Mod
Take on the role of battlefield medic as the Hospitaller! Specialise in magical, surgical or medicinal healing, and either mix swordplay with radiance, slash at foes with daggers, or coat your weapons with poison. Based on homebrew by
Become a battlefield medic with this Fighter subclass based on homebrew by somanyrobots. The Hospitaller gets access to various sources of close-range bonus action healing, though the exact nature depends on your choice of medical specialisation.

[]Magical Hospitallers pick up Cure Wounds and can later use their healing to bolster their strikes with radiant magic.[/]
[]Surgical Hospitallers can patch people up the old-fashioned way, and become keen hands with daggers and scalpels.[/]
[]Medicinal Hospitallers can bolster their allies with a quick injection, and turn their knowledge of medicine against foes.[/]
This one was a bit of a self-set coding challenge for me, since the level 3 ability involves monitoring the health of your allies. Tell me if you run into issues. The subclass gets a pretty bulky level 3, but the intent is that some of the features will either be mutually exclusive or rare. Otherwise I've been meaning to make a "healer" subclass for a while. That it ended up being a Fighter tracks with some of my previous stuff, I suppose.
In any case, hope you have fun with the mod. If you do like this or any of my other mods, I do have a tip jar set up here:
Features by level
-
[]Level 3:
[
]You are proficient in Medicine, and can use your bonus action to take the Help action.[/][
]You can use your Second Wind to target any creature within 9m, instead of just yourself.[/][
]When you revive a Downed party member, you gain Advantage on your next attack. If that attack still misses, you can reroll the die one last time.[/][
]During a combat encounter whilst all other participating party members are at full health, your speed is increased by 3m and your AC is increased by 1.[/][
]The first time one of your party members drops below half its maximum hit points, all your attacks deal 1d6 bonus damage for the rest of that combat encounter.[/]
-
[]Level 7: Choose one of the following specialisations. These abilities can be used an amount of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of once) each Long Rest. Your choice can be changed whenever you gain a Fighter level.
[
]Magical. You can cast Cure Wounds as a bonus action, using Wisdom as its spellcasting stat.[/][
]Surgical. You can Patch Up allies in melee range as a bonus action, healing hit points equal to your Fighter level.[/][
]Medicinal. You can administer an adrenaline shot to allies. This gives them 2d6 temporary hit points, and so long as they have these hit points, they gain an additional 3m of movement.[/]
