Overview

DivineSacredFlame is a balance and immersion overhaul for the Cleric's iconic cantrip, Sacred Flame. By default, Sacred Flame often underperforms in the mid-to-late game because enemies routinely shrug it off with their high Dexterity stats. This mod fixes that issue while aligning the spell much closer to official D&D lore and improving its tactical utility.

✨ What Changes?

• []Wisdom Saving Throw: The spell now targets Wisdom instead of Dexterity.[/]

  []Lore-Accurate Mechanics: Sacred Flame is a manifestation of divine will and fervent prayer—not a physical element you dodge out of the way of. It tests a creature's mental and spiritual fortitude.[/]

  []Half Damage on Save: On a successful saving throw, targets will still take half damage. True divine judgment cannot be completely shrugged off by luck.[/]

  []Bane of the Unholy: The bonus damage against Fiends and Undead has been rebalanced and increased to 2d8 Radiant damage (up from the base 1d8), making it a reliable weapon against the forces of darkness.[/]

  []Balanced: It strictly remains a cantrip, meaning it fixes the frustration of missing without breaking the game's economy or action economy balance.[/]

In tabletop rules and true fantasy roleplay, Sacred Flame isn't a traditional fireball or a bolt of elemental energy; it is an absolute decree of divine power brought down upon a soul. Requiring a Dexterity check never made sense for a prayer that materializes directly around a target. Shifting it to Wisdom correctly represents a creature's inner willpower and mental resistance against holy judgment. Furthermore, because divine wrath carries absolute weight, it ensures that even the most resilient foes feel the burn.
