Arcane Recovery - Spell Balance Intent and Flavor

Arcane Recovery

An assortment of spell tweaks and adjustments meant to restore intent, balance, flavor, etc. Based largely on 5e with BG3 in mind, these changes chiefly address spells that I personally care about or view as particularly heinous offenders. Globe of Invulnerability cheese is replaced with 5e functionality. Banishment reclaims lost territory. Dimension Door is no longer lobotomized. Shadow Blade loses its creep without consequence. Don't randomly rename Chill Touch, you goobernaut. What arcane wonders!

Changes below.

Banishment

Duration. Concentration, up to 1 minute

Effects. Added missing functionality, "If the target is native to a different plane of existence than the one you're on, it is banished to its home plane for the duration. If you maintain concentration for the spell's entire duration, the target doesn't return."

Bone Chill

Name. Reverted to the original Chill Touch.

Dimension Door

Range. Increased to the engine maximum.

Effects. Now ignores line of sight. Accounts for casters categorized as large creature size.

At Higher Levels. Upcasting support for slots of 7th-level and higher.

Imported from Improved Dimension Door.

Dispel Evil and Good

Description. Made it clear that using either secondary functionality will end the spell early.

Effects. Added missing Dismissal option, "Expel a celestial, elemental, fey, or fiend back to its home plane. Or expel an undead to the Shadowfell." Make a melee spell attack. On a hit, the creature must succeed on a Charisma saving throw or be sent back to its home plane.

Eyebite

Description. Added missing hyperlinks.

Restrictions. Can't target a creature again if it has succeeded on a saving throw against this casting of eyebite.

Find Familiar

Restrictions. Can now be used on the Nautiloid.
