Overview

This mod replaces point-and-click voice lines for Tav Voice 3. The new voice is a higher-pitched male voice and was recorded by me.

I started this project because I thought the male Tav voices in the game were a poor fit for a gnome character. This voice is based on my D&D character called 'Frug,' who is a gnome. The mod was created for my own personal use, but I decided to share it here in case anyone else wants to use it. English is not my first language, so my Danish accent might bleed through at times.

The mod currently replaces all point-and-click voice lines for Tav Voice 3. Some of the lines have been rewritten to better fit the character I had in mind; however, most of them are simply recorded in a new voice. Note: Voice 3 will still sound like the normal voice in the character creator, as those files have not been touched.

Please note that the audio quality might not be as good as the base game, but I am neither a voice actor nor do I have an expensive studio microphone. I did, however, do my best to remove noise from the recordings and adjusted their volume to be similar to the base game.

I might do a full voice replacer at some point; however, there are more than 4,000 voice lines for each voice, so it will take a while if it ever happens.

Installation

Currently, the only version that exists contains all the loose sound files and must be installed manually. A '.pak' version might become available later if I figure out how to make that.

To install the mod, simply extract the 'VoiceOfFrug-LooseFiles.zip' archive and drop the 'Data' folder into your Baldur's Gate 3 install directory.

If you play the game through Steam, your install directory will look something like this: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Baldur's Gate 3

To uninstall the mod, simply delete the sound folder at: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Baldur's Gate 3\Data\Public\Shared\Assets\Sound

Please note that if you use other sound replacement mods that also store loose files in this folder, you will have to reinstall those again!
