Unarmed smites for Zariel Tieflings

Zariel Tieflings get two smites - the Searing Smite at level 3 and the Branding Smite at level 5. This mod adds unarmed versions of these smites - the Searing Strike and the Branding Strike - at the same character levels. They use your unarmed attack and damage instead of your weapon. So you will have an unarmed and a weapon version of your smites.

DETAILS

The added damage, effects on your target, cost, cooldown etc. are the same as for the weapon smites, but it's based on your unarmed attack.

Installing this mod of course makes the most sense for Zariel Tiefling monks who don't equip weapons, and/or whose unarmed damage is higher than their weapon damage.

But it works for all classes - the animations are your standard unarmed attack animations, with added fire and glow effects. For monks, they will use the unarmed attack animation of your subclass, and for other classes, they will use the basic "fists up" unarmed attack animations. Different classes and subclasses may get different looking effects, too, as you can see in the video.

HOW TO LEARN

For Zariel Tieflings, the unarmed smites will unlock automatically when you level up to character level 3 and 5. If you are a Zariel Tiefling and have already reached those levels in your game when you install the mod, the unarmed smites will be in your hotbar.

COMPATIBILITY

Other mods that modify the Searing Smite or Branding Smite probably won't change anything about these unarmed versions, as these are standalone spells. But the conditions that they cause are the same as from the weapon smites, so if another mod edits those, it will probably apply to the conditions caused by these unarmed versions, too.

INSTALLATION

- Get BG3 Mod Manager if you don't have it yet

- Drag the file into BG3 Mod Manager

- Add the file to the left hand list of Active Mods

- Click "Save Load Order To File"

- Click "Export Order to Game".
