During a playthrough last night, we had our whole party crowded around a scrying eye hitting it with our best shots and it wouldn't go down. Yes, normally thunder damage is a good way to take care of them, but the mechanic is too disruptive for my taste.
Spending your turn attacking an eye is a tactful decision to avoid calling more enemies into a fight. There's still ample probability you will miss or low roll damage without the unnecessary damage reduction. This mechanic only effects tactician difficulty.

Alternate version also doubles their health to compensate (only pick one option)
