📋 About This Mod

NOTE: This mod has been ported over from Mod.io, where I originally uploaded it. The version available here is exclusive to Nexus, as it removes the progression merging workaround (which can conflict with other mods). As Compatibility Framework now no longer requires a config file for subclasses, this has been omitted. This version specifically has been built with 5e Spells and ATT in mind, so no spell selection will appear beyond level 12 without them. If you prefer UnlockLevelCurve or Mystra's Spells, I strongly suggest using the Mod.io version, which you can find here.

The second installment of my "Book of Subclasses" series is here: Wizards! Now, you might be asking yourself, "how can the Order of Scribes work in BG3?" Well, that's the cool part, it doesn't! At least, not exactly as written in Tasha's Cauldron of Everything (D&D 5e), and not without SE support (which may yet come one day). Some features needed to be adapted to work within this system - however, casting spells through your Spectral Mind most certainly can work! The War Magic subclass, of course, needed some small tweaks, and if you've used my standalone version of that subclass, you'll already know that they were pretty minor. That said, I would like to present:

War Magic also has optional homebrew at this level and level 6, which can be enabled as a toggleable passive. Check it out in-game to find out more about what it does! As for the Order of Scribes passives for this level, as you can see, some heavy homebrewing had to be done to make it work. Yes, it is possible to transmute spells to a different type, but that requires Script Extender, which I'd rather not rely on, especially since I hope to eventually bring this to consoles. So, instead, I opted to make spells of an attuned type ignore resistance, and add a little bit of extra damage. You know, as a treat. Generally, you'd try to transmute your spells to ones that your target would be vulnerable to in the first place, so adding a bit of damage seems like an alright alternative. Also, you can't change your attunement during combat, which gets around the potential to exploit it during combat by changing your attunement to match whatever spell you want to cast that turn.

Dispel Magic doesn't exist, and the closest thing is Remove Curse, so War Magic has been adapted to use this spell instead.

There is no way to currently designate a power level of a spell apart from a spell itself when adjusting what is used to cast it (as in, removing the spell slot cost), so instead the Order of Scribes level 10 feature essentially works as a once-per-long-rest stripped-down version of Arcane Battery. Really, it doesn't feel that u
