Better Mourning Frost

Standard version:

• []Arcane Enchantment Added: The staff now grants Arcane Enchantment (similar to many legendary items), giving you a +1 bonus to Spell Save DC and Spell Attack Rolls.

  []Enhanced Cold Damage Rider: The flat +1 Cold Damage rider has been upgraded to a Damage Rider as Damage Source (DRS). This means it can now trigger other damage riders and passive effects you have (like Potent Robe, Callous Glow Ring, etc.).

  []Note that for balancing purpose I have made this +1 damage rider to only work for spells(incl. cantrips), but not weapon attacks.

  []Insidious Cold now uses the spellcaster DC instead of the hard-coded DC.

  []New Signature Cantrip: The default Ray of Frost spell has been replaced with the new custom cantrip, Eldritch Ray of Frost.

• []This cantrip works and scales exactly like Eldritch Blast. It fires 1 to 3 separate projectiles based on your character level. Each projectile deals 1d8 Cold Damage.

  Alternative (more balanced) version:

    Installation

    • []Use a Mod Manager (such as BG3 Mod Manager or Vortex) to install the .pak file.

      []If installing manually, place the .pak file in your Baldurs Gate 3\Data folder.

      Compatibility & Notes

      • []This mod will conflict with any other mod that directly alters the properties or effects of the Mourning Frost staff.

        []It is safe to install or remove at any point, but the changes will only apply once the Mourning Frost item is loaded by the game. If you already have the staff, you may need to save and reload your game for the new effects to take place.
