An Extra Trigger for The Dark Urge 'Kill Your Lover' Scene

Description

What if you wanted the Slayer Form but didn't want to kill Isobel for it?

Well, that can sometimes be a little tricky.

In vanilla BG3, there are 3 ways to trigger the Kill Your Lover scene:

1) Allow Marcus to kidnap Isobel.

2) Exit the Shadowfell without killing Isobel or Aylin.

3) Select the dialogue option Push your Urges down when meeting Isobel for the first time.

For case #3, however, the option only appears if Sceleritas Fel has already appeared to demand her death. With how quickly Last Light Inn can be found though, it's very easy to meet Isobel before that camp event can play. If this happens, and Isobel is saved from Marcus, then the Kill Your Lover scene will be locked out until after the Shadowfell.

This mod adds an extra case. Any time after the battle with Marcus, the player can speak to Isobel at Last Light and confess that "My blood... it's telling me to kill you." If the player resists the Urge during that conversation and selects the option Chase away your putrid desires, Bhaal takes the hint and the Kill Your Lover scene is immediately queued.

Installation instructions

BG3MM: Since my implementation directly overrides a vanilla file, the mod will show up in a box at the bottom of the Mod Loader. Right click it, and select 'Allow in Load Order'.

Vortex: Not a clue.

Requirements and Compatibility

This mod directly overrides

GustavDev/Story/DialogsBinary/Act2/Haven/HAV_Isobel.lsfand will conflict with any mod that overrides the same file.

This mod should be compatible with mods that edit the file without overriding it, as long as this mod is loaded first and the other mod does not itself edit the node identified by UUID

This mod can be installed mid-playthrough without issue, and should work as intended as long as Isobel is alive and you haven't gone to the Shadowfell yet.

Bugs

If you experience bugs or issues, please try to replicate them on an otherwise vanilla save (with no other mods installed) before reporting. Include as many details as possible, including a guide to replicating the issue, if the bug persists.
